Scrapbook Mini Album: Paper Bag Album, Part 1

This paper bag album has a family theme and it’s the first paper bag album I’ve made that hasn’t gone into the trash! For a twist on the classic paper bag album, I bound the bags vertically and used them as envelopes for really huge tags! There is tons of space in this album for photos, journaling and memorabilia.

This is a great reversal of the other paper bag albums I’ve seen — the vertical format. Your video is very professional…. rushing to view Part 2. Thanks!

@1BABYMISS My tape runner? is the Scotch ATG 700 by 3M. If you do a google? search for 3M ATG 700, you should get plenty of hits. I got mine online from a company called Framing Supplies. YouTube doesn’t allow links in the comments section, so I can’t give you a link, but if you google “Framing Supplies” then it should be the first one to come up.

  10. 1BABYMISS says:

what type of adhesive did you use (that big roller thing) and where can I buy it from?

  11. desdichaedo says:

Yes, my ATG does have a skull and crossbones! That’s because it’s a rock star ~ lol! :D

    2. That paper is from the My Mind’s Eye “Bohemia” collection & I don’t know where you would get it now as it is an older collection & I think it is retired now.

    2. how did u make that first page with floral motiv 4′47”? or where u did u buy that?

I gave this album away after I made it, so I don’t have it to look at & don’t remember exactly what I did since it’s been so long. I would guess an inch, but my spine ended up being too small in the end & the book wouldn’t lay flat, so I would still recommend waiting until the rest of the album was completed & leaving the spine for last. No need to repeat my mistakes! :D

  17. purplesky50 says:

doing exactly like the family bag you made and following along in making the bag, with same amount of pages you made, how many inches extra did you add on your for the spine, stop my bag till I heard back from you, Also great job on the book Annette

  18. desdichaedo says:

It’s probably best to do the front and back cover last. That way you’ll know exactly how many inches of “spine” you need to wrap around the album.

  19. purplesky50 says:

how did you measure for the front to bac k cover, its more than the 5 inches for each page, how many inches did you add for the front and back cover Thanks

  20. arkiejunebug says:

    loved your ideas..

  21. desdichaedo says:

I’m sorry ~ I was in such a hurry to answer the first part of your question that I missed the second! I am not able to add text to all of my videos at this time, but I am always happy to answer any questions you might have about measurements or techniques.

  22. desdichaedo says:

The paper hinges I used to attach the bags to each other were two inches wide. I scored down the middle so each bag is attached to a one inch strip on either side of the score line. Thanks for watching!

  23. deafscrapbooker says:

Since, I can’t hear when you were talking while video…I would like to know how many inches on the edge while you added to the paper bag ? I really like your vertical paper bag album and want to make one for myself. I do enjoy your video and wonder if you can add text on your video? Thank you!

  24. cabettsutubeuser says:

I agree… Amazing! She does such wonderful tutorials. A real inspiration for me and I’m sure many of us.

  25. desdichaedo says:

The corner rounder made larger scallops and I got the idea in my head between the front and back cover that I would like to see a row of smaller scallops next to a row of larger scallops, so I switched to the scissors. :D I ended up liking the juxtaposition between the two size a lot, so I went with it!
