Hi, everyone! At the April 2011 Virtual Crop on The Beach, I’ll be decorating a paper bag album with the K & Company “Flora and Fauna” collection. The album itself is based on a design from Kathy Orta. I have made some modifications to her original design, and am showing them to you here with her permission. Copic Class Haul Video Cool Scrapbook Store Paper Tales.mp4

Thanks for watching my videos and subscribing. This is a Scrapbook and Paper Crafting Supply Haul post Copic 101 Class. First store is in Poway, California. Cool Scrapbook Stuff. They hosted the class that was taught by an Jill Grace, an Amuse Art Stamp design team member and copic certified instructor. Great information about the markers and I would highly recommend a class from her. I picked up a few goodies from the store. The second part of video features supplies from Paper Tales in San Diego. The discount I reference is from registeringfor, and participating in the Southern California Scrapbook Store Shop Hop. You went from store to store and got “stamps” in your “passport” based on your spend level. Some stores had buttons or pins to affix to your lanyard — you had to purchase them or got them as premiums for your spending level. The participating stores send emails every so often to encourage you to visit the stores again and so I did. I believe in shopping at independent retailers and also recognize great service. I recognized that everyone has a budget, people will drive to get the service level they want or expect, and business owners have margins to meet. Where we spend our precious crafting pennies is a choice … all retailers — big box and independent have a place in each consumers’ shopping basket. Enjoy the goodies. Please leave a comment about your service expectations.

This is the final part of my paper bag album series. It has a family theme and it’s the first paper bag album I’ve made that hasn’t gone into the trash! For a twist on the classic paper bag album, I bound the bags vertically and used them as envelopes for really huge tags. There is tons of space in this album for photos, journaling and memorabilia.
